 Senior Capital Project Manager

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) is based in the West Central part of London. Although one of the smallest London boroughs it is one of the most densely populated.

It is home to museums, embassies and world famous retail establishments such as Harvey Nichols and Harrods. It is also the home of the Notting Hill carnival.

One of the most diverse boroughs in London with a healthy mix of residents from all over the world make it a truly cosmopolitan part of the city. Properties also range from the most expensive in the world to a wide variety of social housing estates and homes.

 The Royal Borough is now looking to recruit two Senior Project Managers to join their established Capital Projects Team to help deliver projects ranging from one million to multi millions of pounds.

 The Role

 The job will require you to manage the delivery of capital funded projects, within but not limited to Children’s Services, Adult Social Care and the Leisure sectors. Some smaller scale residential projects may also be included in the Teams programme in the future.

 As the Senior Project manager you will be responsible for delivering varied projects on behalf of the Council, which range from office fit outs to school extensions.

 Kensington and Chelsea Council, and the Capital Projects team, prides itself in leading the market when it comes to innovative and sustainable designs in building works. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the projects being completed on time and on budget whilst not compromising on quality.

 The role offers overall a variety of projects which will enhance your skills and experience as a Senior Project Manager.

The Person

  • To be successful in this job you must have experience of managing multiple work streams as a Project Manager.
  • Experienced in managing projects from inception to completion and taking over projects already underway.
  • The job involves dealing with contractors and a high level of stakeholder management. You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience in these areas.
  • Specification writing, putting work out to tender, managing the process are all essential elements of this job and you will be required to provide evidence of these skills.
  • A knowledge of feasibility studies and experience of carrying these out will be highly desirable but not an essential skill for this job.
  • A Building Surveying or construction/ project management degree or qualification is also highly desirable, however if you are able to demonstrate the competencies required as an experienced PM, please do apply.
